Quite often you’ll hear cut numbers used in contests; for efficiency and speed. Many operators also use “N” in place of “9” when sending signal reports.
Only used when the context makes it clear that the letters actually signify numbers
A – 1
U – 2
V – 3
4 is sent normally
E – 5
6 is sent normally
G – 7
D – 8
N – 9
T – 0 (sometimes sent as a long dash)
